Bureaucracy Stop: Shipping Updates & Newsletter for Roofify Customers

In plain English: We absolutely think nothing of this law - but the bureaucratic madness is forcing us to our knees.

As an online shop for roofers and sheet metal workers, we stand for honest craftsmanship, pragmatic solutions, and fast deliveries directly to the construction site. However, the new EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) makes shipping without borders simply unaffordable for medium-sized retailers.

Where we continue to deliver reliably as usual:

We will continue to deliver without restrictions to selected EU countries (Germany, Austria, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Finland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia,Croatia) as well as all non-EU countries (e.g., Switzerland, Norway, the UK, the USA, Australia, New Zealand)!

The decision to temporarily stop shipping to the remaining EU member states was extremely difficult for us. But from a business perspective, we simply have no other choice.

What does the new EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) stipulate?

The new EU regulation has been in effect since mid-August 2026. We fully support its actual goal - protecting the environment and reducing waste. However, the bureaucratic implementation is a financial disaster for medium-sized businesses:

  • Local authorised representatives required: For each individual EU destination country, we are required to appoint a legal representative (Authorised Representative).

  • Authorised representatives in theory vs. practice: Nobody probably really knows what these so-called authorised representatives actually do. In theory, they are presumably supposed to check important environmental requirements - in practice, they mainly line their own pockets for minimal administrative work.
  • €500 to €1,000 basic fee per country - and rising: Administrative registration and representation alone costs us a flat rate of between €500 and €1,000 per EU country per year - without even a single box having been shipped. As service providers and agencies have long discovered a lucrative business model in this, these costs continue to rise steadily.
  • Packaging licences are added on top: In addition to these purely bureaucratic basic fees, the regular licence costs for the packaging materials and filling material actually imported are also charged.

  • No exemptions for small quantities: There are no de minimis thresholds. If we ship just 2 packages to a country per year, we still have to pay the full fixed costs.

  • Strict empty-space quota: A maximum of 50% empty space in the outer carton is permitted, combined with extensive quantity reporting.

The numbers simply no longer add up for us

For a single country, this may initially sound like a manageable amount. However, if we apply this purely bureaucratic fee to the 26 remaining EU member states, we are talking about between €13,000 and €26,000 per year - just for the paperwork, without having shipped or packed a single box!

With our fair prices for the trades, we would have to sacrifice tens of thousands of euros in net profit solely for EU forms. We cannot and do not want to pass this on to our product prices.

How long is the delivery time at Roofify?
The delivery time depends on availability and the product:

Germany: approximately 1–3 business days (for advance payment, from receipt of payment).
EU countries: approximately 4–8 business days.
Pre-orders / freight goods: Shipping takes place immediately after the goods arrive or after an individual appointment has been arranged.
What order value qualifies for free shipping?
Within Germany: Free shipping for orders of €250 net or more (does not apply to freight goods).
Below €250 net: Shipping costs will be calculated transparently at checkout before purchase.
Does Roofify offer express shipping?
No, we currently do not offer express shipping. All orders are delivered as quickly as possible by our reliable partners (DHL, DPD, GLS, UPS, FedEx or freight carrier).
What payment methods are available?
We offer flexible and certified payment methods:

Advance payment / bank transfer: Save 2% with the discount code SKONTO2 at checkout.
Credit & debit cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express.
Express pay: Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal.
Invoice & instalment purchase: Via Klarna or PayPal instalment payments.
How does instalment payment through PayPal work?
For orders of €199 or more, you can conveniently finance your tools through monthly instalments via PayPal. Simply select “PayPal instalment payments” at checkout - no additional paperwork or registration with Roofify required.
How do I use the 2% discount for advance payment?
Enter the discount code SKONTO2 at checkout and transfer the amount within 21 days.

⚠️ Important: The discount applies exclusively to manual bank transfers. If you use another payment service provider, the discount will be cancelled.
How long can I return items?
We grant a voluntary extended 30-day return period from receipt of the goods (the statutory period is 14 days). The items must be unused, complete and in their original packaging.
How do I initiate a return and who pays the costs?
Send an email to support@roofify.de or use our online returns service.
Return shipping costs: In the case of a standard withdrawal, the buyer bears the return shipping costs.
Optional service: We will be happy to provide you with a return label. We charge a low flat fee of €9.99, which will be deducted from your refund.
Damaged/incorrect goods: We will of course cover the return costs in full!
How are bundles (product sets) refunded in the case of a partial return?
Full return: You will receive a refund of the full bundle price.
Partial return: If you return only individual items from a set, the item you keep will be charged at the regular individual price, and the set price advantage will no longer apply.
Does Roofify sell exclusively professional tools?
Yes. Our range is specifically geared toward professionals in the roofing trade (roofers, sheet metal workers, carpenters) as well as quality-conscious users. We carry top brands such as MASC, WUKO, FALZSID, FREUND, Dräco, Buschmann Tools, Leister, Hikoki, and many more.
Does Roofify also offer tools for specialized techniques?
Yes! Whether you are looking for tools for double-lock standing seam roofing (e.g., roll benders, seam closers), cordless machines for beading and nibbling, slate roofing tools, or certified protective equipment for asbestos disposal (TRGS 519) - you will find it all here.

Does Roofify also offer cordless systems and mobile machines for construction sites?
Yes. For time- and effort-saving work directly on site, we offer mobile solutions such as cordless beading machines (e.g., Buschmann AccuBeader), electric seam closers (e.g., Wuko Sprinter, Double Falz Seamer), cordless strip nailers (e.g., HiKoki, Prebena), and cordless hot-air tools from Leister.
What is the difference between standard sheet metalworking tools and tools with plastic / non-marring jaws?
Tools with PVC or plastic jaws (e.g., from FALZSID or FREUND) prevent unsightly scratches and pressure marks when bending and seaming. They are indispensable when working with painted sheet metal, aluminum, zinc, or copper in visible areas (e.g., on parapets, eaves, or verges).
Does Roofify offer engraved gifts or master craftsman bowls for anniversaries?
Yes! We offer traditional decorative and commemorative hammers (forged and galvanized in gold, chrome, or antique copper finishes). Does Roofify offer products for certified asbestos disposal (TRGS 519)?
Yes. For compliant roof renovation of existing buildings, we offer the legally required PPE and disposal equipment:

Respiratory protection: FFP3 fine dust masks (e.g. 3M Aura 9332+ with exhalation valve).
Protective clothing: Antistatic disposable coveralls (Cat. III Type 5/6).
Packaging & transport: Special asbestos big bags (e.g. for corrugated sheets up to 320 cm), residual fiber binders, as well as barrier tape and warning stickers.
Can I also request large equipment or special tool sizes through Roofify?
Yes. If you need specialized workshop machines (such as segmented folding machines from DRÄCO, coil carts, or unwinding systems from MASC) or unlisted diameters (e.g. for pipe expanders or bi-metal hole saws), our specialist team will be happy to prepare an individual quote for you.
Does Roofify also offer expert advice before purchase?
